Boy, 10, returns to parents 2 days after kidnapping CHANNELVIEW (AP) — A tear ful 10-year-old returned to the wait ing arms of his unemployed, home less parents two days after he allegedly was abducted by a hitch hiker who said he wanted to give the boy a better life. “I just thank God he’s home,” said Debbie Gardner, the mother of Clif ton Gardner. Clifton, the oldest of six children, was returned late Saturday by Harris County Sheriffs deputies to the Channel Motel where his parents were waiting for him. The boy said he left Thursday with a hitchhiker his parents had befriended because the man offered help for the finan cially strapped family. “The man told me we were going someplace where he could make $100 for my mom and dad and when we were finished we’d come home,” Clifton said. He said he wasn’t harmed during the 12-hour ordeal and spent most of the time sleeping in the back seat of the station wagon that the suspect took from the family. The suspect, originally identified as Kenny Dale, was later identified as Kenny Lawrence Good, 22, of Canton, Ohio, Harris County Sher iffs Detective Ed Kroschel said. Good was charged with kidnap ping and possession of a stolen vehi cle by the Harris County Sheriffs Department, Kroschel said. FAMILY HAIRCARE SAVINGS!
