At Ease
CONTENTS
The handsome chap on the front cover is
called the Ogre. As anyone who knows the
Ogre will tell you, his good looks are
surpassed only by his charm and
sophisticated wit.
He’s one of thousands of people who
populate the 16th-century magical kingdom
known as the Texas Renaissance Festival.
This is the 12th year for the festival, which
features out-of-this world food, drinks and
entertainment.
After you’ve read these At Ease features
on the festival, just go south down Highway
6. Take 105 East to Plantersville, then take a
right on 1776. You can probably follow the
traffic to the festival site, which is about six
miles down the road.
Features
Behind the Scenes 6
Explore the area beyond the grassy paths and fancy fa
cades of the Texas Renaissance Festival to discover the
crew that makes this unusual experience real.
Renaissance Festival 8
Ahh ... fall. It’s the
only time of the year
you can experience
the sights, the
sounds, the smells
and tastes of the
Texas Renaissance
Festival, which runs
every weekend in
October and the first
two weekends in
November. This fea
ture takes you on a
quick tour around
the grounds.
