The men and women responsible for writing those tick ets are perhaps the most visible part of the University Police, but there are others working behind the scenes. For example, university detectives working undercover last spring foiled the attempted theft of a student’s car and in the process helped break an auto theft ring working out of Houston. Parking patrol officer Raymond Johnson ■ performs one of the more common University Police Department functions in our cover photo. Johnson joined the University Police 2V2 months ago.
