nior theater arts major at Teyas A&M. Pesek was one of W
finalists selected from a field of 150 at a regional acting
competition held in Fort Worth in Januan,'. But Pesek is
only one of a group of aspiring artists who are honing their
skills in the A&M Department of Theater Arts and Speech

When the curtain goes up on The Aggie Player’s production of
“Twelfth Nighf’ tonight, few in the audience will know how many
hours, classroom and otherwise, that went into the performance.
Nancy Feigenbaum goes backstage in A&M’s growing theater arts de
partment and finds out how artists are made.

Many students in theater arts says they thought they’d grow out of act
ing after high school. But an increasing number here at A&M have
come to realize it’s a real job like any other, with enough career op
tions to please the most Republican of parents. Tricia Parker explores
career choices for theater arts majors.
