Across America they’re playing
the NCAA basketball bracket game
this week for the women as well as
the men as everyone keeps guessing
where teams will be matched when
the tournament pairings are an
nounced Sunday.
But Andy Landers, coach of sec
ond-ranked Georgia (29-1) isn’t in
terested in participating in any gues
sing games at the moment.
“I told the players that people will
try to figure out all kinds of mat
chups for us in the NCAA tourna
ment in terms of the title game, but
to keep it all in perspective,” Land
ers said. “There are just too many
good teams out there to look that far
ahead.”
Others, however, are forecasting
an eventual showdown between
Georgia and Texas, 28-0, the team
the Southeastern Conference cham
pions continue to pursue.
The Longhorns once again were
an overwhelming choice for No. 1 in
this week’s poll announced Tuesday.
