Sharon had accused him of conducting secret peace negotiations with Jordan and Palestine and fol lowing policies that would "cost a - great deal of blood.” “The affair is over since Sharon addressed all the points raised by the prime minister,” Education Minister Yitzhak Navon of Peres’ Labor Party said on Israel television. “As far as we’re concerned, there is regret or an admission that he either had not meant it or retracted the position he took.” Navon added, however, that if Sharon attacked Peres in the future, “there’ll be a dismissal notice, and that’s that.” Peres walked past reporters after hours of consultations, out declined comment. In a compromise reached after an angry speech from Peres earlier Thursday night, Sharon sent Peres a . brief letter that was distributed to re porters. It did not contain the full retraction Peres had demanded. Sharon described the letter as a list of “clarifications” of six remarks with which Peres had taken issue. Sharon denied making one of them, said he already had apologized for two on Wednesday, and claimed a fourth was misunderstood. On the other two points, Sharon said he accepted Peres’ explanations and the decision of the majority of ministers. Sharon also said he would try to persuade the Cabinet to op pose Peres’ willingness to negotiate E eace with Jordan while Palestine iberation Organization bases re mained in Amman, the Jordanian capital. * Sharon did not appear on tele vision but issued a statement saying, ' “I hope the affair is over. I think my clarifications will improve the atmo sphere in the government.” Earlier Thursday, Peres threat ened to dismantle his coalition with the conservative Likud bloc if Sha ron did not retract what he called lies. He mentioned six specific alle gations made by the former war hero and defense minister, who is a Likud member. Sharon and most Likud members oppose any territorial concessions to Jordan in the occupied West Bank. r 1 0 0 100’s of new Arrivals! for: • Dorm Formals • Pledge Presentations • Weddings • Christmas • Cocktail Parties cocktail length • tea length • long accessories • gifts • seperates Formals ^ from $49 r i v a 1 0 0 o f n e w o f n e w A r everyday r I I V a i The After 5 & Social Occasion Clothing store for Ladies & Men Dresses • Accessories ‘Tuxedos 900 Harvey Rd. 764-8289 Post Oak Village Open until 7 p.m. M-F College Station, TX 10-6 Sat ^ • M6HWY CHBISTMAS-S«y W B—tWWhA • ;!>. ^^merica^xpmss«Mastercai^*Vis^^y^^^^rrP3^i^hAi^[^^^lE^^^^ Rajneesh must leave country in five days Associated Press PORTLAND, Ore. — Indian guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh pleaded guilty Thursday to arrang ing sham marriages to help his for eign disciples remain in the United States illegally.
