SPECIAL NOTICE
Dear Mr. Clark,
Your work was reviewed independently
by both an engineer and a physicist.
Although their backgrounds and
scientific/engineering interests are
different, both came to the same
conclusion. Your concepts about the
UNIFIED FIELD THEORY appear to be
so profound that you are years ahead
of the present scientific thinking in the
areas in which you delved.

Astros, Bass hook Giants, 5-2
Associated Press
HOUSTON — Playing regularly has made Kevin Bass a better baseball
player, according to the three-year Houston Astros’ veteran.
“Playing more this season has helped me relax at the plate and improve
as a hitter,” Bass said after belting a triple and a double and driving in a run
to power the Houston Astros to a 5-2 win over the San Francisco Giants
Thursday night.
“Knowing I’m going to play tomorrow has helped me relax. In the past
I’ve tensed up thinking that this will be my last game if I don’t produce,”
Bass added.
Bass is second on the team in home runs with 13 and is tied for second in
RBI with 54, while hitting .258 in 449 at bats.
Bass has been particularly effective in Houston’s September hot streak,
hitting .352 in his last 13 games.
“Most good hitters say that the most important thing in hitting is staying
relaxed and playing within yourself,” Bass said.
The win is Houston’s 12th in their last 14 games and gives them a 13-3
record against the Giants this season.
Rookie Charlie Kerfeld, 2-2, was the winner. He pitched seven innings,
giving up one run on six hits while walking one and striking out three. Dave
LaPoint, 7-13, was the loser,' going 5 1-3 innings giving up Five runs on five
hits.
“Sometimes it takes a rookie a period of time to get his feet on the
ground and tonight Charlie had good velocity, good commnand of his
pitches and he kept the ball down,” said Astros Manager Bob Lillis.
The Giants took a 1-0 lead in the first when Ron Roenicke doubled, took
third on Joel Youngblood’s infield single and scored on Dan Driessen’s
fielder’s-choice grounder.
Houston tied the game in its half of the first when Bill Doran reached on
shortstop Rich Adams’ throwing error and scored on Bass’ double.
The Astros took a 3-1 lead in the fifth, when Bass hit a two-out triple
and scored on Jose Cruz’s single. After a walk to Glenn Davis, Mark Bailey
singled in Cruz from second.
