Dodgers 8-4.
With the score tied 1-1, Jeff Leon
ard opened the San Francisco sixth
with a single that struck starter Jerry
Reuss in the arm and ricocheted into
his jaw. Reuss then walked Bob
Brenly and David Green to fill the
bases.
BALTIMORE — Doyle Alexan
der allowed three hits in 6 2/3 in
nings and Ranee Mulliniks rapped a
homer, two doubles and a single as
the Toronto Blue Jays defeated Bal
timore 5-3 Sunday.
The Blue Jays had 12 hits against
starter Mike Boddicker, 1-1, and
Sammy Stewart.

American League
Brewers 8, Rangers 1
ARLINGTON — Paul Molitor
went 4-for-4 and Paul Householder
hit a three-run homer Sunday to
lead the Milwaukee Brweres 8-1
over the winless Texas Rangers.
Moose Haas, 1-1, went the dis
tance for the Brewers, giving up six
hits while walking two and striking
out three. Loser Dave Rozema, 0-2,
went five innings, allowing 10 hits
and seven runs, five unearned, as
the Rangers dropped their fifth
game.
Milwaukee, winning its fourth
straight after an opening loss, scored
two runs in the first on Ben Oglivie’s
RBI grounder and Doug Loman’s
RBI single.
The Brewers made it 4-0 with two
unearned runs in the second.
Householder homered in the fifth
to give the Brewers a 7-0 lead. The
blast followed singles by Ted Sim
mons and Doug Loman.
The Brewers added their final
run in the seventh when Tommy
Boggs walked Romero with the bases
loaded. Toby Harrah homered in
the eighth for the Texas run.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lance
Parrish drove in four runs, three
with his first homer of the season,
and Dan Petry shut out the strug
gling Kansas City Royals on three
hits over eight innings to power the
streaking Detroit Tigers to a 5-1 tri
umph Sunday for their fifth victory
in as many games.
Detroit, which won its first nine
games last year en route to the world
championship, captured its 11th
consecutive decision at Royals Sta
dium, including all six regular-sea
son contests a year ago plus two in
the American League playoffs.
Mariners 5, Twins 1
SEATTLE — Phil Bradley’s
bases-loaded triple highlighted a
five-run seventh Sunday that gave
the unbeaten Seattle Mariners a 5-1
victory over the Minnesota Twins.
The Mariners extended the best
start in their history to 6-0 behind
the seven-hit pitching of Mike
Moore and Edwin Nunez.
White Sox 11, Red Sox 6
BOSTON — Carlton Fisk drove
in four runs with a single and homer
and the Chicago White Sox rode a
seven-run fourth to an 11-6 victory
over the Boston Red Sox.
The White Sox bombed Boston
relievers Steve Crawford and rookie
Mike Trujillo for 13 hits and 11 runs
in spoiling the Red Sox’s bid to go 5-
0.
A’s 8, Angels 1
Yankees 2, Indians 1
CLEVELAND — Phil Niekro and
Dave Righetti combined on a six-hit
ter as the New York Yankees edged
the Cleveland Indians 2-1 Sunday.
Niekro, 1-1, yielded five hits in 7
2/3 innings while striking out nine
and walking one. He left with the
OAKLAND, Calif. — Mike Davis
hit a three-run homer in the second
and a sacrifice fly in the eighth Sun
day to pace the Oakland Athletics to
an 8-1 victory over the California
Angels.
Winner Chris* Codiroli, 1-1,
pitched three-hit ball through seven
