Aggie science fiction
begins today

The Memorial Student Center
will be the galactic rendezvous for
science fiction fans as AggieCon
XVI begins today.
AggieCon Xvl, MSC Cepheid
Variable’s four-day science fiction
convention, will be a conglomeration
of sci-fi movies, panel discussions,
art shows and demonstrations, said
Martha Wells, program book editor.
Student passes are available for all
of the events scheduled during the
convention, for Texas A&M stu
dents, a four-day pass to AggieCon
XVI is $7.50 and a one-day pass is
$4. Non-student passes cost $12 for
all four days and $5 for one day.
Thursday’s lineup of night movies
are “RoUerbaB” and Stanley Ku
brick’s “A Clockwork Orange.” Fri
day night AggieCon will sponsor
“The Terminator,” “The Adven
tures of Buckaroo Banzai” and
“Phantasm.” Saturday night’s fea
tures are “Star Wars,” “The Empire
Strikes Back” and “Laserblast.”
Other movies and television epi
sodes will be shown from 10 a.m. to
7 p.m. every day on the second floor
of the MSC. All the night movies will
be in Rudder Auditorium.
Although the movies are what at
tract many people to AggieCon,
Wells said there is much more to see
and do than just watch films.
