After Hours offers driving course
The TAMU After Hours Program will sponsor a Driver Safety
Course Friday and Saturday. This course may be used to have cer
tain traffic violations dismissed and to receive a 10 percent discount
on automobile insurance. Registration is held 8 n.m. to 5 p.m. Mon

Lifeguard tryouts held in Galveston
The Galveston County Sheriff Department is holding liteguai
outs at 715 Holiday Drive on Galveston Island. The trvoutsbeg

be at least J7-years-oJd and fie able to swim .500 meters in under 10
minutes, 50 meters in 35 seconds or less and complete a 25 meter un

Student funding budget workshop held
A workshop for treasurers of student organizations concerning
budgets for student organization allocations will be held today at
3:30 p.m, in 137 MSC. A second workshop will be held March 19 All
organizations must have a representative attend one of these
workshops prior to submitting a budget request. Budget requests are
due March 29 at 4 p.m.
Duchesses needed for Cotton Pageant
Applications are now available for duihesses to the 51st Annual
Cotton Pageant Any campus organization is invited to enter a con-

testant, as well as sororities and Fraternities. T he winner receives a
$500 scholarship to TAMU. Entry fee is $40. The pageant will be

Proposed bill protects
state seniority system

LaMarque, filed a bill Monday which
would establish a seniority system
for state employees should layoffs be

“In the event a layoff of state em
