Two tuition bills eire now being considered by the House Higher Ed ucation Committee and each has a different plan for raising the tuition. Currently at Texas A&M, in-state students pay $4 per semester hour and out-of-state students pay $40 per semester hour. Bob Piwonka, a Fiscal Department official, said tuition for Texas schools has not been raised since 1971. Texas schools also charge less for tuition than most universities in other states.
