If these are the only events you enter, you sure are limiting yourself. Intramurals offers lots of individual and dual sports that are free and fun. Individual sports are good for people who hate the hassle of getting a team together at the last minute so no forfeit results. Dual sports offer the thrill of a team sport but with fewer people arguing. Individual and dual sports are ideal for gathering dorm points, especially when the whole dorm signs up. The only problem with mass sign-ups is increase in the forfeits. Not that this is bad, but entrants should be aware of that phenomenon. Forfeits are easier to avoid in individual and dual sports since so few people are involved, if you know that you can’t make a scheduled game, and don’t want to forfeit, simply call your opo- nent and set up an alternate date. After you play, make sure to re port the score to the Intramural Office before the next scheduled game in your division. Slam Dunk finals were held during halftime of the Texas A&M - Texas game Feb. 20. Contestants were judged on style and form. Winners were: First - John Van Dermeer; Second - David Preston; Third - Dennis Mahaffey. Basketball All-University Finals will be held March 7 from 5 p.m. - 9 p.m. on the main floor of G. Rollie White.Good luck to all finalists! Charlie Hustle is coming! Stay tuned for more info! RAINOUT INFO Due to the weather situation, some softball games have been rained-out. Captains, make sure to check your team’s schedule to see if your game has been moved to another field. Duncan Field is being used for some rescheduled games . Be prepared to play earlier in the evening since Duncan doesn’t have lights. Due to his unique slam dunk style, John Van Dermeer (pic tured here) won the Intramural Slam Dunk contest.
