Get Toto ticket
Toto has surprised us all and
is coming to Texas A&>M as
part of their 1985 Isolation
Spring Tour.
Town Hall and Budweiser
are sponsoring the March 21
performance of the Grammy
award winning group. It will
be the first concert tour for
Toto in close to three years.
The Isolation Spring Tour
will take them through the
sourtheast and southwestern
portions of the U.S., with a
concentration on Texas, Okla
homa, Louisiana and Florida.
Since the release of the al
bum TOTO IV — and the six
Grammys that resulted from
that effort — Toto has ded
icated their work to producing
Isolation on Columbia LP.
They also took on two other
major projects before going on
tour.
In late 1983, David Paich,
keyboardist and vocalist, met
with producer of “Dune,” Ra-
faella DeLaurentiis and direc
tor David Lynch so Toto could
create the musical atmosphere
for the movie. The second pro
ject was the composition of an
instrumental theme for the
boxing events of the 1984 Los
Angeles Summer Olympics.
“Moodido” was written, re
corded and mixed in a matter
of days and was featured
throughout the games.
Toto also went through a
personnel change. Bobby Kim-
Toto
ball decided to split from the
group and there was a search
for a new singer with perform
ing and writing abilities, as
well as a wide vocal range. Fer-
gie Frederiksen, formerly of La-
Roux was chosen as a replace
ment.
The “Isolation” tour will be
the first time that a musical
group has worked in conjunc
tion with a major brewing
company to support a nonpro
fit organization. A portion of
all proceeds acquired are being
donated to the USO.
Tickets for the concert are on
sale in the MSC Box Office —
$10 for general admission and
$8.50 for students. The concert
is March 21,8 p.m. in G. Rollie
White.^
