The 49ers improved their record to 7-1 in the western division of the National Football Conference and ensured at least a two-game lead over the idle Los Angeles Rams. The Oilers, 0-8, remain one of two teams in the NFL which were still winless. Buffalo is the other team. The 49ers took the opening kick off and drove 83 yards in ten plays to take a 7-0 lead.
