NEW ORLEANS — The owner of the New Orleans Saints said he wants to keep his NFL franchise in the Crescent City, but is concerned about stalled negotiations for a new contract with the Louisiana Su perdome. John Mecom said Monday he was “tired of being slapped in the face,” and blamed the breakdown in negotiations on “a small amount of dollars and one helluva moral issue.” He declined to elaborate. “I feel the Saints and myself have done everything we can to try and let the people know that we want to stay here,” he said. “But we expect something back.” The Saints are in the last year of a 10-year contract with the Superdome, and negotiations for a new agreement broke off last week.
