Woman gets two years
for aggravated perjury

BROWNWOOD — A woman

perjury and has been sentenced
to two years in prison f or provid
ing false information to a Brown
County grand jury.
Betty Jo Glendinning, 59,
waived her right to a trial during
a pretrial hearing Monday, en
ding a pattern of what she called
working as a professional victim
because she could not get a job.
“1 just wanted io.eat,” site said
after pleading guilty. “It takes
an act of Congress to get a job
once a person is not young any
more.”

HARASSMENT:
• A resident of Hobby Hall
has been receiving obscene tele
phone calls from an unknown
taller, University Police said.
OTHER:
• A person received a tres
pass warning for soliciting
magazine subscriptions in the
Commons without University
authorization.
• Two people received a tres
pass warning for soliciting
magazine subscriptions without
authorization in Mosher Hall.
• University Police found a
shotgun and a pistol while tak
ing inventory of a 1981 pickup
before the vehicle was towed.
The pickup was parked in a re
serve space in the staff lot north
of the Printing Center.
Glendinning had told
Bi ownwood authorities last year
she knew who was involved in
the 1981 slaying of Donna In-
low, 83, found slabbed to death
in her shoe store.
Brownwood police reported
Glendinning had a history of
going into sheriff and police
off ices and saying she had infor
mation about one of their un
solved crimes.
She would come to authorities
with a bloody mouth and say she
