John Albin Wanders, 24, of Houston, suffered fatal injuries when his 1983-model pickup truck ran off 1-55 six miles south of Canton, the Mississippi High way Patrol said. The accident happened about 7:45 a.m. Sunday. Investigators said Wanders was alone in the truck. Elsewhere in the state, Lauderdale County officers said a 35-year-old man was killed Sunday when his car ran off a county road and plunged into a creek. The victim was identified by the sheriffs office as David Ingram, 35, of the Toomsuba community in Lauderdale County. Officers said the accident happened during the predawn hours, but the wreck was not dis covered until around 8 a.m. Separate accidents in Union County in northeast Mississippi claimed two lives during the ear ly part of the weekend. Kimberly Carol Simmons, 21, of Myrtle, was killed Saturday in a head-on collision. Two other people were injured.
