Authorities in Dallas and Conroe, as well as Mexico, want to question Apolinar Ramirez, 21, of Michoacan, Mexico, about the slayings of illegal aliens in their areas. Ramirez was arrested Tues day at a southwest Houston apartment complex after police received a tip from an infor mant. Homicide investigator Carlos Gonzalez said authorities believe Ramirez killed at least six aliens who could not pay smuggling fees. “He is a coyote (alien smug gler). All he needed was some thing to provoke a fight,” Gon zalez said. Ramirez was charged with murder in the Oct. 17 shooting death of Francisco T. Perez, 26, of Mexico at a lounge. Witnesses told police Ramirez shot the sus pect for speaking to his girl friend. Gonzalez said Ramirez was charged with two counts of attempted capital murder in the same incident after he fired shots at two off-duty police offic ers who tried to arrest him, as well as the attempted murder of a woman who witnessed the shooting. An autopsy found no signs of encephalitis in Tyrone Daniels, 2 months, of DeBerry, said Dr. Tracy Gustafson of the Texas of Health, Department Tuesday. Fear of a possible encephalitis outbreak prompted several Panola County families to rush at least 30 ill children to a pediat ric clinic in nearby Shreveport, La., last month. It also led city officials in Mar shall and Carthage to double efforts to control mosquitoes, MSC Cafeteria Now Better Than Ever.
