the MX missile test site claim
that security police pulled them
across property lines so that they
could be charged with trespas
sing.
The anti-nuclear protesters
changed tactics Tuesday x after a
mass demonstration at the main
gate Monday. Civilian or milit
ary authorities arrested or de
tained 568 people.
Of the 147 people taken into
custody Tuesday, most were

Democrats will hand Reagan his
first budget loss in two years.
O’Neill, D-Mass., told repor
ters in his office today he expects
a 20-vote margin of victory for
the Democrats, a bit below the
edge they had Tuesday in win
ning a test vote 230-187.

crats, Reagan has pushed a
budget through the Democra
tic—-dominated House in each
of the past two years. But the
Democrats gained 26 more seats
in the November elections,
effectively eliminating Reagan’s
