The man gave a third name
to agents from the state Attor-
ney General’s Office who
arrested him Monday. He was
taken into custody before the
start of a business class he has
taught since fall at Millersville
State College.
The same man taught com
puter science at Shippensburg
State College, also in central
Pennsylvania, under the name
of John Byron Hext.

who he is or what academic
credentials he may or may not
have,” said Deputy Attorney
General Kim Daniel.
The man was held at the Lan
caster County Jail under
$40,000 bail on charges of theft
by deception, tampering with
public records, forgery and false
swearing for falsifying creden
tials at Shippensburg.

FORCE BASE, Calif. — Dozens
of anti-nuclear protesters infil
trated the military base that will
test the MX missile, and hun
dreds of other demonstrators
were arrested outside the instal
lation Monday.
About 500 protesters were
arrested by civilian authorities
or detained by Air Force secur
ity police. Of those, 60 had
actually infiltrated the coastal
base. The rest were arrested on
misdemeanor charges of tres
passing or blocking traffic at the
main gate.
There were no reports of in
juries, and officials said the de
monstration was peaceful.
The protesters represented a
variety of anti-nuclear groups
under the umbrella of the Van-
denberg Action Coalition, which
had promised a week of demon
strations.
A coalition spokesman said
the same plan would be followed
Tuesday, with protesters trying
to blockade the main gate to tell
base workers of their opposition
to the nuclear missiles to be
tested there. Authorities said
more mass arrests were
planned.
Of the 60 who actually infil
trated the base through the back
country, six made their way
within eight miles of the MX
assembly building. The Air
Force called it a serious security
breach, however, no missiles
were stored on the base, officials
said.

Jim Douglass, director of
Ground Zero, confirmed that a
small group of protesters, in
cluding members of Ground

Douglass, who has been
arrested several times for non
violent protests in and around
the base, said he would not parti
cipate himself. "We take turns
going to jail,” he said.
“The process of stopping the
train is tne refusal to cooperate
with what created the train,
which is passive acceptance of
the nuclear arms race,” Doug
lass said. “People have been
looking, they’ve been seeing and
they’ve been standing up against
it, and in the long run, that’s
