a hot dog stand say they will go
to court to keep the name “Wee-
Dee’s Wee-Nees” for their busi
ness over the objections of
“Wheaties” cereal owner Gener
al Mills.
General Mills says “Wee-
Dee’s” sounds too much like
“Wheaties.”
Richard Wehde, whose name
is pronounced “Wee-Dee,” told
the Chicago Sun-Times Sunday
he will fight to keep the name.
General Mills has held the
trademark for Wheaties for 58
years.

five finalists in site choice is in
Deaf Smith County, Texas.
DOE spokesman Jack Siegel
said the hearing was not in
tended to focus on the actual
selection of a site. But Louisiana
officials said their testimony
attempted to ensure the state
does not get selected for a dump
it does not want.
In 1978, Louisiana lawmak
ers agreed to allow federal test
ing in the Vacherie salt dome on
the Webster-Bienville Parish
line in exchange for an agree
ment allowing the state to veto
locating a dump in those salt
mines.
“We still feel the 1978 agree
ment will be maintained,” said
Dr. L. Hall Bohlinger, a member
of the state Department of Natu
ral Resources who will partici
pate in the hearings.
Bohlinger said state officials
want to make sure the Nuclear
Waste Policy Act — passed by
Congress in December and
signed by President Reagan in
January — does not destroy the
