Although Eugene Fodor’s success seems to have hap
pened overnight, he has actually been a student of the
violin since age seven. He won four first prize honors in
local competitions and at age 11 made his debut with the
Denver Symphony.
Later Eugene studied at the University of Southern Cali
fornia, Juilliard, Meadowmount and Indiana University. He
collected further awards, including in 1972 first prize in
the International Paganini Violin Competition. During this
period his teachers included the legendary Jascha Heifetz.
Since his victory at Moscow’s Tcljail^vsky Inlftj'jjational
Competition, he has performed irt virtually all
capitals of the world, winning acclaim from audiences and
critics alike. His numerous television appearances have
fostered a broader public for classical music and have cre
ated a constant demand for his recordings.
"His studies with Heifetz have given him a remarkable
command of his instrument plus a full powerful tone ..
