Cancer Center tracking after
potential cancer genes have
found two on a chromosome
that’s abnormally rearranged in
several cancers.
It’s the latest report in a
burgeoning area of genetic re
search by scientists seking the
causes of cancer.
There may he more than
100,000 genes in a single cell,
each directing the manufacture
of one or another body subst
ance. Genes are arranged along
chromosomes, which are minute
thread-like structures.
