Aggies
(continued from page 15)
Hector and Jackson should be
able to play against the Cougars.
Marshall and Smith will start, but
it’s probable that both Jackson
and Hector will see limited ac
tion.
So the Aggies, short-handed in
the running back department,
may have to once again rely on
the most accurate arm in the
SWC. Through four games,
Kubiak has passed for 1,002
yards and eight touchdowns.
“It’s hard to I’d say what’ll hap
pen Saturday,” Kubiak said. “I’d
say if (Hector and Jackson) don’t
play, we may pass a lot more and
if they do, then we might not
have to pass as much.
“I feel they’ll be in the game,
but as for what happens when
they hop in there, I don’t know.
How they perform will definitely
be the key. We sure don’t want to
take any chances and get them
hurt, because weil need them
during the rest of the season.”
The Cougars’ Wilson has com
pleted 56 percent of his passes
for 508 yards and one touch
down. Roberson, Wilson’s top re
ceiver, caught nine passes for 119
yards against Baylor.
Fullback Dwyane Love has
rushed for 385 yards and four
touchdowns, including a 192-
yard performance in the Coogs’
lone victory — a 48-3 smashing of
Lamar. Backfield mate Dallas
Wiggins has compiled 350 yards
and has scored four touchdowns.
Wiggins rushed for 124 yards
and two touchdowns against the
Bears.
As a team, Texas A&M has
rushed for 751 yards, with Mar
shall’s 163 leading the way. As a
starting twosome, Houston’s
Love and Wiggins have gained
735 of the Cougars’ 1,074 yards
on the ground.
Houston sophomore defen
sive end James Holmes, who
started his first game against the
Bears, said the Cougars need to
forget their slow start last
weekend. The Cougars trailed
21-7 at halftime after falling be
hind 21-0.
“We must keep climbing the
ladder, taking one game at a
time,” he said. “Our concentra
tion can only be on the Aggies.”
Kubiak said the Cougars, as al
ways, will be tough on their home
turf.
“They’re playing well,” he
said. “They’re on a roll right now
and their defense played really
well in the second half against
Baylor last week. They’ve got a
lot of talent on defense, and
they’re going to be, without a
doubt, the toughest defense
we’ve faced all year.”
Aggie linebacker Bullitt, who
has 20 tackles for the season, said
