This is not a fun job. It’s a negative-type job. If you help a student — maybe jump- start his car — he may thank the officer, but that’s all. You never jear from them again. But if you write someone a ticket, you get all kinds of obscene letters and phone calls.” But Parsons complimented the overall behavior of Texas A&M students. “They’re basically good kids,” he said. “We don’t have any trouble with them — except parking. The people we apprehend for thefts and van dalizing are rarely students. “Yell Practice is a good exam ple. With that many people in one place, it’s amazing that we don’t need any police. And we really don’t need them. Occa sionally there’s someone who’s had too much to drink, but the other students take care of him.” sigr /ill i Parsons and his wife will return to Louisiana, where he was born. “We bought a house on Tole do Bend,” he said. “It’s the largest man-made lake in the na tion. It’s a waterfront lot. We’re going to do a lot of fishing, travel some and look after my mom and dad who live near there.” Prescriptions Filled Glasses Repaired ’ BRYAN 216 N.
