United Press International
SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Stan
ton Powers says his $2 bank
account grew in just two weeks
to more than $4 million through
the grace of God, but the bank
president doubts it.
Friends told Powers to medi
tate on his financial problems.
He did. After several days Pow
ers walked up to the bank’s auto
mated teller. It said he had $21
in his account. A few minutes
later he tried it again, and it said
he had $281, and a third try gave
him a balance of $600. A fourth
try gave him a balance of $4 mil
lion.
On Sept. 10, Powers said, he
decided to ask attorney Mar-
chello DiMauro to help him
withdraw the millions.

“They were doing economic

think that they have to be conde-

All five said they hoped Leba
non would one d^y be united.
However, when President
elect Bashir Geymayel was kil
led, many analysts thought
Lebanon’s hope for unification
died with him. Although dis
mayed by Gemayel’s assassina
tion, the students disagree.
“There is no man on earth
who can force people to live
together in peace,” Khalil, a gra

that the death of Bashir
Gemayel will bring chaos to
Lebanon is completely false.”

United Press International
NEW YORK — About 300
male and female soldiers lost an
average of 20 pounds each on
what is said to be the first man

military history. An extraordi-

tained their goal weights a year
after completing the diet prog
ram, savs an article in the Octo
ber issue of Ladies’ Horne
Journal.
The program at Fort Eustis,
Va., is geared to a gradual
weight loss of about two pounds
per week. Each participant must
eat each meal in a diet mess hall
and, four days a week, exercise
for a half-hour and jog two

“The Moslems and tlj
Christians elected Amin
Geymayel,” Rmeili said. “Thei
both agree on him and they set
that he is the only person, afe
the death of his brother, who
can pull Lebanon out of eigli
years of war.”
Prince said: “I think, person

much more of a politician that
Beshir was. I hope he’ll be fim

Israelis should take partial re

The students said the next
step towards uniting Lebanon
should be the expulsion of al

“The Lebanese people need
peace desperately,” Rmeili said
“They are sick of war. Sol

“The Lebanese people will
