through gambling equipment
confiscated in the raid of a
fraternal lodge.
Mayor Johnny Isbell said
officers of the Fraternal Order
of the Eagles Lodge 2744 could
have felt they were operating
dice games, blackjack and bingo
lawfully and ignored signs they
would be shut down. The raid
was made late Friday.

month-old Ruth Rogers clutch

courthouse grounds in protest
of a proposed toxic waste land
fill site.
The child was one of about
150 people who showed their
opposition to a county site being
turned into a waste dumping
