Box 2860 713-846-5721 Member FDIC Group recognition urged by Michael Larkin Battalion Reporter All campus student organiza tions are urged to apply tor rec ognition this month. Director of Student Activities Dr. Carolyn Adair said groups can apply for recognition any time during the year, but groups applying now can enjoy campus facilities immediately. She said this mainly applies to last year’s 528 student organizations that need to be re-recognized. Benefits and facilities avail able to student organizations are outlined in a publication put out by the Student Activiites Office entitled “The Procedures Manual for Student Organiza tions and Advisors.” Benefits range using the Texas A&M University name using mail, banking and telephone facilities in the Memorial Student Center. •The Student Activities Office has simplified applications for recognition, Adair said. A group seeking rerecognition only needs to fill out a simple card which lists the officers of the organization and the person re sponsible for paying the organi zation’s bills. New groups want ing recognition must complete two additional forms: an appli cation for recognition and a con stitution outlining the purpose of the organization.
