Freshmen honored
by Chamber members
Two Texas A&M freshmen will
be honored today as representa
tives of the incoming freshman
class and the returning student
body by the Bryan/College Sta
tion Chamber of Commerce and
the mayor’s office of each city.
Cathryn Hughes of Abilene,
and Frank Abbott of Longview,
will be honored at noon with a
luncheon at Briarcrest Country
Club.
The freshmen were chosen
by the Student Government at
the request of the Chamber of
Commerce, said Dr. Malon
Southerland, chairman of the
University Committee of the
Chamber of Commerce.
“This is the business com
munity’s way of saying welcome
and thanks to the students of
Texas A&M,” he said.
