Funeral services for Willard F.
Brown, 25, and Rory G. Stahl,
22, were held Sunday and Mon
day. Both were killed in a motor
cycle accident on campus
Saturday.
Services for Brown were held
Sunday in Stephenville. He was
buried Monday in Windsor,
Conn. Services for Stahl were
held Monday in Angleton.
Brown, a senior marketing
major from Stephenville, and
Stahl, a junior mechanical en
gineering major from Angleton,
were killed when Brown attemp
ted to turn right onto Texas
Avenue from New Main Drive.
He lost control of the motorcycle
and crashed into a brick wall at
12:24 a.m.
University Police Chief Russ
McDonald said the motorcycle,
which belonged to Brown, appa
rently ran up on the sidewalk of
the right turn lane barrier. The
two students were thrown from
the motorcycle. One man slam
med into a corner of the brick
wall which surrounds the flower
bed in the barrier; the other was
thrown 30 feet to the other side
of the llower bed.
McDonald said both
were dead from multiple!

Customs officials score record
heroin bust at Dallas airport

DALLAS — Authorities said a
routine airport inspection led to
the arrest of two Thai nationals
and the seizure by U.S. Customs
Service agents of 10 pounds of
heroin worth an estimated $6.5
million.
“It’s one of our better busts,”
David Greenleaf, U.S. Customs
Service Dallas District director,
said late Sunday. “We’ll take it as
a record for heroin.”
Greenleaf said inspectors
found about 25 plastic packages
of heroin in three suitcases with
false bottoms during the cus
toms check at Dallas-Fort Worth
Airport about 7:15
Sunday.
