x-rated movie goers Blonde Ambition is
the midnight movie Friday and Saturday
night. And at this rating, the blonde's
career ambition probably isn't to be a
doctor or an engineer.

2916.Invasion of the Bee Girlsis the first
movie of Piranhacon in. A State Depart
ment agent goes to California to investi
gate a series of deaths brought on by
sexual activity. The victims, men, are all
connected with a government-funded
research institute. R. Friday at 8:45 p.m.
in the Grove. Cars that Eat People is a
film about society being dominated by
automobiles. In this case, it's Paris that is
being eaten up, but who knows. College
Station could be next. Friday at 10:15
p.m. in the Grove. In Truck Stop
Women a bunch of gear-jammin'
mamas, including Playboy playmate
Claudia Jennings, play the hijacking
game with the trucking industry. Friday
at 11:45 p.m. in the Grove. The Fearless
Vampire Killers stars Sharon Tate and
Roman Polanski. Polanski is pursued by
a homosexual vampire in this comedy-
horror story. Friday at 1:15 a.m. in the
Grove. The last show of Piranhacon III is
Evil Brain from Outer Space in which a
dying scientific genius discovers a way
to preserve his brain after his death.
Somehow this evil brain wants Earth to
be its servant. Watch out or, better yet,
WAKE UP! Friday at 3:05 a.m. in the
Grove.

Porky's is about the misadventures of
six high school chums with an interest in
drugs and sex. R. Hound of the Basker-
villes is a comedy adaptation of the
famous Sherlock Holmes tale. Dudley
Moore and Peter Cook star. PG. Rocky
and company ham it up in the Rocky
Horror Picture Show Friday and Satur
day at midnight. R. The Stewardesses is
a stewardess training film — or how
they really get their wings. All this and
more in 3-D. (And for this you want
glasses?) Friday and Saturday at mid
night. R.
Schulman Six: 775-2468, 775-
2463. Death Wish II, starring Charles
Bronson, is a sequel to his eariuer movie
Death Wish. This time around, Bronson
is seeking vengence for the crimes com-
mited against his family. Rated R. The
Academy Award winner On Golden
Pond is the story of a couple marking
their 48th year together during a sum
mer stay at Golden Pond. The Academy
Awards were for best actor (Henry Fon
da), best actress (Katharine Hepburn)
and best screenplay adaption. Also stars
Jane Fonda. PG. Still hanging on after
ages and ages is Raiders of The Lost
Ark, which won an Academy Award for
best film editing. PG. The Sword and
The Sorcerer is a mystical film about, as
the title suggests, a sorcerer and a
sword. The plot thickens when we find
out what the sorcerer does with the
sword. It 7 s probably not the same movie
you might think — it's rated R. John
Savage plays a computer technician in
The Amateur. He gets into the espion
age business in order to avenge the mur
der of his girlfriend in this thriller co-
starring Christopher Plummer and
Marthe Keller. R. Chariots of Fire is the
Academy Award winner for best picture
and is a touching story of two men's
quest to run in the 1924 Olympics. Also
chosen as Academy Award winner for
best original score and best original
screenplay. PG.
Skyway Twin Drive-In:
822-8300. If you want to know what Fury
of Succubus is about, look up the word
succubus in the dictionary and you'll
have a pretty good idea. But if you're not
that interested here's a hint: it's
obsecene. R. Final Exam has arrived just
in time for next week. It's a horror flick
about that dreaded time of year. Maybe
you can pick up pointers on how to
study. R. Taps, starring George C. Scott
and Timothy Hutton, is a story about the
devoted corp of cadets of a military
school who take on the tasks of fighting
off land sharks, while the outside world
watches the confrontation with the
news media. PG. Nine to Five's story
line is how three female secretaries try to
conquer the injustices of a male domin
ated office. And they win. PG.
Post Oak Mall Cinema:
764-0616. Quest For Fire is the story of a
prehistoric tribe and their slow transi
tion into civilization. The characters act
like real animals. One of Richard Pryor's
better films. Some Kind of Hero, has
him playing a POW returning from Viet
nam to face nothing but terrible misfor
tune. R. Deathtrap stars Michael Caine,
Dyan Cannon and Christopher Reeve in
the film version of Ira Levin's Broadway
smash hit. PG.
Manor East: 823-8300. cat People
is a remake of the classic 1942 film about
creatures who transmute from people to
panthers. Natassia Kinski is a virgin
who doesn't realize she's a cat person.
But when she gets violent in the zoo, her
origin is obvious. Starring Malcolm
McDowell. R. Partners stars Ryan
O'Neal and John Hurt as two people
who work together as — partners. This
rated R movie has a combination of sex,
violence and of course, nudity. Paradise
is a Blue Lagoon rip-off, this time taking
place in the Middle East. Willie Aames
(of Eight is Enough) and Phoebe Cates
star in the romantic adventure story of
the pair's travels across the desert and
their "discovery" of each other. Rated R.
Music
Backstage : Tonight and Saturday
night enjoy the acoustic blues and folk
music of Lyle Lovett. Cover is $2. Also
enjoy the 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. happy hour
with 45c draft beer and $1 bar drinks.
Lakeview: Tonight is Rock 'n' Roll
night with a Rock and Roll jam. Saturday
listen to the music of Red Stegal and a
few top show and dance bands. Cover is
$6.
Rebels: This week's music is pro
vided by Fast Break, a progressive coun
try-western and soft rock 'n' roll band.
No cover charge. Happy hour features
two-for-one drinks and from 4 p.m. to 7

Texas Hall of Fame: Tonight
dance to the sounds of Sundance and

Excalibur is a new night club on East
29th street in Bryan which features all
types of music and dancing. Happy
hour is from 4 to 7p.m. Monday through
Friday with free hot hors d'oeuvres.
A glassblowing demonstration will be
held in the Brazos Center concourse,
Saturday at 2 p.m. by Jack Shannon — a
glassblower for the Texas A&M Chemis
try Department. He'll demonstrate
many of the intricate designs he creates
for the labratory.
The Arts Council of Brazos Valley will
present an exhibit entitled "A Women's
Summeray: Artisric Texas Pioneers," on
loan from the Institute of Texas Cultures
in San Antonio through June 15.
Also the council will presetn "Images
of Aging, A Juired Art Show," open to
all area artists, complying with theme on
aging, on display at the Brazos Center.
