Spacek plays his anguished daughter-

perhaps says it all but this really sounds
like a invitation from a prank phone call.

the Titans is a smashing grab-bag of
Greek gods, heros and mythical crea
tures based on the myth of Perseus (Har
ry Hamlin) and the deadly Medusa, a
real looker who can turn living things to
stone with a single glance. PG. A Little
Sex stars Tim Matheson (Otter from
Animal House) as a successful commer
cial director who has problems keeping
his marital vows. In House of Wax Vin
cent Price is a wax artist who gets re
venge in a bizarre way, by dipping his
enemies in wax. And all in 3-D, too. PG.
Monty Python's Life of Brian is about
Brian, born in a manger a short distance
from and about the same time as Jesus
Christ, and is continually mistaken for
the Messiah. PG.
MSC Aggie Cinema: 845-
2916. Continental Divide is a romantic
comedy set in the Rocky Mountains,
starring the late John Belushi. A big-city
muckraking reporter meets a privileged
Bostonian who lives in a commune with
the endangered bald eagles, and
together they tackle the wilderness. Fri
day and Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Grove
— rain 701 Rudder R. The WW II prop-
anganda film We've Never Been Licked
has Texas A&M as a back drop and is a
cult favorite on campus. You'll meet the
role-model for Rock The Good Ag.
Thursday at 9:45 p.m. in the Grove —
rain 701 Rudder. Unrated. Another cult
film. Animal House, is set on the cam
pus of a small private college. The pic
ture takes us into two fraternity houses;
that of the well-groomed, sophisticated
Omegas and the Delta house, which is a
collection of misfits, slobs and rule
breakers led by John Belushi. Friday and
Saturday at midnight in the Grove —
rain 701 Rudder. R. West Side Story is
the screen version of the celebrated
Broadway musical about rival white and
Puerto Rican gangs in a New York ghet
to. Starring Natalie Wood and Rita
Moreno. Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in Rudder
Theater. G. A lush, brillant adaptation of
the classic 1858 novel by Ivan Gonchar
ov, Oblomov, begins as a comic allegory
about a well-to-do landowner who pre
fers to stay in bed. It ends as a tragedy of
a Russian who allows life to pass him by
because he does not feel a part of it.

MSC Cepheid Variable
845-1515. In The Day of the Dolphin
George C. Scott plays a marine biologist
on the verge of a momumental scientific
break-through-communication between
himself and a dolphin. Politics and
tragedy intrude upon his experiments
forcing a decision that wars with his
commitments to himself and the animals
with whom he shares a unique and mov
ing relationship. Thursday at 7:30 and
9:45 p.m. in 601 Rudder. PG.
Plitt Cinema I&II: 846-6714.
Porky's is about the misadventures of
six high school chums with an interest in
drugs and sex. Another film about learn
ing the facts of life. R. In an Agatha
Christie whodunit. Evil Under the Sun,
Peter Ustinov leads an all-star cast. PG.
Rocky and company ham it up in the
Rocky Horror Picture Show Friday and
Saturday at midnight. R. The Stewar
desses is a stewardess training film — or
how they really get their wings. All this
and more in 3-D. (And for this you want
glasses?) Friday and Saturday at mid
night. R.
Schulman Six: 775-2468, 775-
2463. In Victor, Victoria Julie Andrews
plays perhaps her most challenging role,
that of a woman playing a man playing a
woman. See review on page 5. R. The
Academy Award winner On Golden
Pond is the story of a couple marking
their 48th year together during a sum
mer stay at Golden Pond. The Academy
Awards were for best actor (Henry Fon
da), best actress (Katharine Hepburn)
and best screenplay adaption. PG. Still
hanging on after ages and ages is Raid
ers of The Lost Ark. It's almost time for
the Raiders' first anniversary party.
Raiders won Academy Award for best
film editing. PG. Silent Rage is a karate
flick starring Chuck Norris, a kung fu
freak who quietly loses his cool. Don't
make him mad. PG. Richard Pryor Live
on Sunset Strip stars the same old row
dy and rude Richard. And the same old
laughs. R. Chariots of Fire is the
Academy Award winner for best pic
ture, a touching story of two men's quest
to run in the 1924 Olympics. Also chosen
as Academy Award winner for best ori
ginal score and best original screenplay.

Skyway Twin Drive-In:
822-8300. The drive-in has opened for
nice weather, so get out your lawn chairs
and coolers. Kentucky Fried Movie is a
hilarious spoof of television and the
movies from the Kentucky Fried Theater
in Los Angeles. If you liked National
Lampoon's Animal House, you'll love
this one. Airplane is the classic cliche
movie, mocking the series of cloud-
hangers featuring misfits pinch-piloting
jumbo jets safely to earth. PG. Sharkey's
Machine stars Burt Reynolds as Sharkey
— who has been demoted to the vice
squad, but is still out to bet the city's
omnious and anoymous crime czar,
known only as “The Ace." His machine
consists of a confederation of vice cops
and friends, imformants, plus the lovely
Miss Ward as a top-money call girl who
lies down on the job for the mdb. R. In
Outland a Federal District Marshall
assigned to police the mining colony of
Con-Am 27, located on Jupiter's volcanic
moon, must deal with impending marit
al break up while he is busy investigat
ing a series of homicides. Starring Sean
Connery and Frances Sternhagen. R.
Post Oak Mail Cinema:
764-0616. Quest For Fire is the story of a
prehistoric tribe and their slow transi
tion into civilization. R. One of Richard
Pryor's better films. Some Kind of Hero,
has him playing a POW returning from
Vietnam to face nothing but terible mis
fortune. R. Deathtrap stars Michael
Caine, Dyan Cannon and Christopher
Reeve in the film version of Ira Levin's
Broadway smash hit. PG.
