The attitude of the Senate is changing, Pearson said, vj Paul Bettencourt, former ^ Judicial Board Chairman, en- couraged senators to communi cate with each other and to take matters to the Judicial Board only as a last resort. He also challenged senators not to stereotype each other. “Don’t judge somebody by what they wear,” Bettencourt said, “listen to what they have to say.” ChrisE Cleveland, executive vice president-appointee, announced applications are being accepted for executive positions and positions on Texas A&M committees. Applications are due at 5 p.m. Friday. Student Government will be working on two new projects next year — the University administration’s Five Year Mas ter Plan and safety awareness, Cleveland said. The Legislative Study Group and the Conference on Student Government Affairs, formerly under the External Affairs Committee, will have their own committees next year, Cleveland said. Past Speaker of the Senate Jeff Anthony explained par liamentary procedure to the senators and demostrated a mock motion with Senators Jim Harris, Keith Carmichael and others. Anthony outlined the respon sibilities of the speaker and speaker pro-tempore, the assis tant speaker and then declared these positions open. The Sen ate will elect members to these positions at its meeting The five vice presif explained their committees. Working to get competing airlines at Easterwood Airport and working to move the entr ances of Northgate businesses to Patricia Street are two upcoming projects of the external affairs committee, Vice President Jay Holland said.
