Position 2 incumbent Her man Brown only held an eight- vote advantage over his top chal lenger, Texas A&M professor Joe Templeton. Brown, also a University pro fessor, received 756 votes (41.97 percent), and Templeton had 748 votes, (41.53 percent). The race’s third candidate, Carol Morris, received 297 votes, (16.5 percent).
