The Aggies scored 209.15 in the effort, breaking the 200- point mark for the first time in the team’s history. The previous record of 198.6 was set Jan. 20 in Texas A&M’s third meet of the season. Only five points separated Texas A&M and UT-A at the conclusion of the meet. UT-A scored 214.95. It was the Aggies’ first loss in four outings. Several team members turned in high scores in the dual meet. Three All-Arounders finished in the meet’s top-six: David Semon was third, Mark Hartwell was fourth and John Kemp finished fifth. The Aggies won three of the six events and looked strong on each rotation. In leading the team, Semon won the high bar and placed fourth in the floor exercises and and parallel bars. Hartwell won two events, the rings and vault, and placed fifth on the parallel bars. Kemp placed fourth on the rings and the high bar and was fifth in the vault while. Sechelski Battalion Staff The Texas A&M men’s tennis team won its fifth straight meet Monday by beating Tulsa University 7-2 at the Omar Smith Tennis Center. The Aggies have now won 10 meets and lost two in the 1982 spring season and are 1-0 in Southwest Conference play. After defeating the Golden Hurricane, the defending Missouri Valley Conference champion, coach David Kent said he’s impress ed with his teanfs victory. “We were expecting a tough meet so we feel very good about this win,” Kent said. “T ulsa has an exceptional team.” The Aggies played seven three-set matches against the Golden Hurricane and lost only two. Brian Joelson lost the number one singles match in a three-set showdown against Doug Boswell 7-6, 5-7, 7-6.
