| Mike Thomas, a 6-6 junior
forward on the Texas A&M bas
ketball team, says he will find out
today whether he will remain on
the squad the rest of the season.
h After Aggie coaches had
attempted to correct defensive
mistakes by Thomas during the
cond half of Tuesday night’s
83-74 defeat of the TCU
Horned Frogs, the forward
stalked out of G. Rollie White
oliseum and knocked down a
chair in the process.
Thomas had entered the
jame with 18:44 left, but was
taken out by Texas A&M coach
Shelby Metcalf at the 17:53
ark after committing a foul,
fits, inclai »ngry at being removed from
s FreriA the game, Thomas strode by
Metcalf and assistants Barry
Davis, John Thornton and
David Goff and sat at the end of
the Aggie bench.
■ Texas A&M coaches tried to
| rectify Thomas’ mistakes while

Blade the same error twice. So
Betcalf took him out of the

B However, Thomas never gave
Metcalf and his assistants a

“As far as after that, the next
thing I knew, he was gone. I’m
sure he was real upset, but he
overreacted to the whole thing.
Something like that is hard to

Goff said that Thomas wasn’t
taken out for committing the
foul.
“I’m sure the foul had no
thing to do with it,” Goff said.
“He had definitely missed a cou
ple of assignments. He got real
upset about being pulled out of
the game. Everything else he
did, he did on his own. He got
in the game and he really didn’t
know what defense we were in.”
