Battalion/Page 7 February 15, 1982 Denver priest opens church doors for ‘street peopk’ to find shelter United Press International DENVER — A Roman Catho lic priest says he will keep the doors of his church open to pro vide shelter and food for the homeless as long as the money holds out. The Rev. C.B. Woodrich, pastor of Holy Ghost Church, first invited “stre people to spend the night / ^ ie church Feb. 3, when /emperatures plunged below /o. Since then, c fi to 400 “self- made gypsies,’ as Woodrich calls them, ha^ been showing up every nigbfo r a sandwich, soup, a cup o/offee and a roof over their heads. “I’ve seen the unbelievable numbers of people without a home, and we’re going to keep this going as long as we possibly can,” said Woodrich, who esti mated the church was spending $500 per night. The money is provided by- donations from individuals and various churches and clubs, both Protestant and Catholic. The Rev.
