WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn.
— Most people outgrow their be
lief in Santa Claus before they hit
their teens. But Craig Bartlett and
his family know the spirit of St.
Nick is alive and well in the form of
a Minnesota car dealer.
The car dealer watched Bartlett
and his two young children strug
gling through the snow toward his
lot and told a startled salesman to
give Bartlett a car.
Bartlett, 30, of Richfield, and
his children had set out last Friday
in search of a $100 car advertised
by Polar Chevrolet, a White Beat-
Lake car dealer.
He knew the family had to have
something to replace his 1967
Chevrolet, which was badly dam
aged a month ago in an accident.
But the car overheated and stal
led on Highway 61 more than a
mile from the dealer. So Bartlett
bundled up his children in blank
ets and started walking.
Matthew, 2, and Michele, 5,
struggled along the roadway with
their father until they finally
reached what Bartlett thought was
Polar Chevrolet but turned out to
he White Bear Lincoln Mercury.
“I asked them if they had a $100
car and they said they didn’t,”
Bartlett said. But the salesman
suggested they look arou ' l |]|[[(''u l ;()'
