MehdiAbdoh claims that Bell should pry him $2.7 million be cause the company failed to carry out contacts reserving suites in his Beau Rauvage Hotel in Isfa- hon, Irai, through this year. The contracts specify that the agreements become void if a war should destroy or seriously dam age the hotel, but they do not mentioi revolution or interna tional strife that would force the firm to withdraw its personnel. Abdoh, who said he fled his homehnd during the political tur bulence, lists New York as his home. Bell attorneys said the con tracts were negotiated in Iran in 1976 and 1978 and called for pay ment in Iranian currency. As a re sult, there is a question whether U.S. courts have jurisdiction to enforce the contracts if they are considered valid. Abdoh said he cannot obtain a hearing in Iranian courts.
