This year, Campbell has not run in the same rampaging, self destructive fashion that he did in the past three years — something he acknowledged^Wednesday. “I’m not talking about our foot ball team, but I can’t continue to pull and drag people like I have in the past,” he said. Some people close to the team say Campbell took to heart com ments by opposing defensive play ers who said he would have to stop running over tacklers if he wanted to play very long in the. NFL. Also, before this season he was embarrassed and disappointed when the Oilers disclosed his con tract ultimatum: either renegoti ate his six-year contract in its sefcond year and pay him $1 mil lion a year or he wouldn t play. The Oilers refused to renego tiate. Before this season, Campbell responded in nationally televised games with outstanding perform ances. In his ABC-TV debut in 1978, he rushed for 199 yards and scored four touchdowns against Miami. Leon Fuller, the University of Texas’ defensive coordinator for five years, has appeared before a screening committee selecting the team’s new coach, while Steve Sidwell, defensive coordinator at Southern Methodist University was the third candidate to be in terviewed for the job. Fuller, 43, said he was the first to appear before the nine-member committee. Sidwell, a 37-year-old native of Denver, was in Fort Col lins Wednesday as the effort to find a replacement for Sark Arsla- nian continued. Arslanian was fired midway through the 1981 season, which the Rams ended with a 0-12 record. Dr. Bernard Jones, chairman of the nine-member screening com mittee, said more than 50 persons applied for the job. He said the committee is interviewing the top candidates and will submit a list of recommendations to CSU Athle tic Director Thurman “Fum” McGraw, who will make the final decision. Fuller in the past has refused offers of head coaching jobs with Lamar and West Texas State, and was recommended to Colorado State by Texas coach Fred Akers. Sidwell, a 1962 graduate of De nver East High School, earned All-Big Eight Conference honors at the University of Colorado and was named to the academic All- Ameriea team. navy black brown bone camel DeLISO Profile $ 48 2018 Texas Ave. ^ ^ Plantation Shopping Center g Mid & low heel Medium & narrow widths 4-10’s J $2 Off any 17" or 2()" one Mem or more pizza Free Delivery Chanello’s 846-3768 not valid during anv other special $1 Off .my 10" or 14" two Mem <>i more piz/.i Free Delivery Chanello’s 846-3768 >1 valid duriin} . >thuT '.|X i $1 Off your with this t oupon if M-ts not to yout address within Ml from the time you ordered Chanello’s 846-3 7 68 2 FREE COKES with every PIZZA purchased 30_MjmrTE DjELhTEWY G4JAPA M TEE order 1 \ delivered -TCX FRffiBffiVeKV 846-3768 DEAR PIZZAEATER, 1 am writino to let you know that CHANELLO’S is your #1 Pizza Place at TASM AND it is interesting to know THAT besides having THE GREATEST PIZZA made from the highest Quality ingredients available, loaded with melted marzarello cheese that will string two feet, fresh chewy homemade dough, special blend of tomato sauce and spices, and topped with your favorite meats and vegetables, (did u get all that?), we also have FREE HOME ElELIVERY.
