8. His hit, “I’ve Never Been So
Loved in All My Life,” has been
No. 1 on Billboard’s Country
Chart for two weeks.
Pride, who just finished a tour
in Canada, has recorded 38
albums; 14 of those albums went
gold. Pride won two Grammy
awards: “Songs of Love” for Best
Country Album, and "Did You
Think to Pray” for Best Religious
Album.

Pride became interested in coun
try music by listening to the
Grand Ole Opry on the radio. Af
ter a brief stint in baseball with the
Los Angeles Angels in 1961, he
entered the country music profes
sion full time.
