The rivalry between Southern
Methodist and Texas Christian
was once one of the hottest things
going in the Southwest Confer
ence, but for the past few decades
it has been just another football
game.
It will be more than just
another game Saturday, however.
SMU, which shows signs of
being the best team in the SWC
this season, will open its league
campaign against a team it has
beaten for the last nine years.
Meanwhile, TCU has perhaps the
most dangerous receiver in the
country in Stanley Washington
and the Horned Frogs are likely to
start and finish the evening in the
