All business Zapata Corporation All business Eastman Whipstock All business Reagan An award winning program BUSINESS WEEK '80 MBAs host third case competition The MBA Association of the College of Business Administra tion will conduct the Third Annual Invitational Case Com petition April 3 and 4 as part of the College's BUSINESS WEEK '81 events. During the competition, eight teams of three graduate business students will have less than 24 hours to analyze an identical business case concerning an actual operating enterprise. Teams from the following uni versities are scheduled to partici pate: Arkansas, Baylor, Hous ton, Rice, Southern Methodist, Texas Christian, Texas Tech and Texas A&M. From its analysis of the de tailed case material, each team will have to identify the prob lems facing the company's man agement, develop alternative solutions to the problems, select a preferred solution, and then justify that solution in an oral presentation before a team of judges from academics and in dustry. Among the judges from acade mics scheduled to preside over the event are: Head Judge, Dr. Carl Anderson, associate profes sor, University of Carolina; Dr. Kirk Downey, associate profes- BUSINESS WEEK '80 proved to be a truly unique series of events according to the Southern Business Administration Asso ciation. In December, Texas A&M Uni versity's College of Business Administration was presented the SBAA's 1980 award for in novations in business school/ business community relations for its first series of BUSINESS WEEK activities. The College was presented a $400 check and a plaque recog nizing the achievement. Among the events held in BUSINESS WEEK '80 were the Second Annual Invitational Case Competition, the undergraduate "Career Fair," the National Transportation Policy Forum, and "A Day with CBA" series of seminars for local business peo ple. Other activities included a conference on computers in small business and a number of guest lectures by visiting busi ness executives. Last year's case competition required teams to make manage ment decisions concerning Schlitz Brewing Co. Baylor Uni versity, the winner of that com petition, went home with the Clinton A. Phillips Award, a rotating trophy that will be pre sented to this year's winning team. Case presentations are sche duled to begin at 1 p.m. April 4 on the third and fourth floors of the Rudder Tower. Involved in advertising since 1955, Littman is a graduate of New York University. He is also a member of the Texas Southern University Board of Regents. Joe Reynolds, Division Sales Manager for Procter & Gamble stresses a point in his seminar on interviewing during BUSINESS WEEK '80. Reynolds will pre sent his seminar again this year at 3:30 p.m. April 1 in the Rudder Theater. Career Fair '81 Committees Career Fair '81 would not have been possible without the help of large number of student volunteers.
