Delivery people have been asked to come to
dorms during visitation hours or else send a male to
men’s dorms and a female to women’s dorms.
A number of residents complained that some
delivery people weren’t following visitation-hour
rules.
Often pizzas were being delivered to the dorm
rooms after hours.
To remedy the situation, the Housing Office sent a
letter last semester to fast-food restaurants, florists,
and local clubs which put out flyers, said David
Bergen, chairman of the University Concessions
Committee.
The letter asked that delivery people abide bf
University regulations regarding visitation hour!
Enclosed with the letter was a copy of the visitation
guidelines.
Bergen said the companies have been cooperativ-
e; he hasn't received any complaints from residents
this semester.
The University has the authority to have the
campus police escort anyone out of the dorm if there
is a violation of the visitation-hour rules.

AUSTIN — The House today
passed a resolution asking the
Legislature to refuse to attend any
public or private functions that re
fuse to serve women.
Rep. Anita Hill, R-Garland,
and the 10 other women member!
of the House introduced the re
solution.
Hill earlier in the week was
refused entrance to the Citadel
Club in the Driskell Hotel. She
was attempting to have lunch with
several male constituents at the
club. She was told the club did not
allow women until 1:30 p.m.
Clint Small, the Citadel’s preji-
dent, said he did not blame Hillfor
being angry. But he said the club
is not up to handle women.
The club president also said
that without women the noise
level is less and there are "no par
ticular distractions” for men “talk
ing shop.”
The resolution also asks that
any public or private facility that is
open to one member of the Legisl
ature should be opened to all
members.
