BOSTON — “The Boston Tradi
tion," an exhibition of 78 American
masterworks from the Boston
Museum of Fine Arts, will be seen in
Des Moines, Houston, New York
and Philadelphia in the next few
months.
The exhibition, organized by the
Museum of Fine Arts and The
American Federation of Arts, in
cludes works by John Singleton Co
pley, Winslow Homer, John Singer
Sagent, Gilbert Stuart and others,
illustrating Boston’s contribution to
cultural life in the United States.
It will be at the Des Moines Art
Center Nov. 24-Jan. 4, the Museum
of Fine Arts, Houston, Feb. 6-March
29, the Whitney Museum of Amer
ican Art in New York April 22-June
14, and the Pennsylvania Academy
of the Fine Arts June 26-Aug. 16.
