The red, yellow and white billboards
on Texas Avenue seem to give the
gist of Proposition 1 to the Texas
Constitution as seen by the financial
community in Texas.
The billboard space, paid for by
Convenience Banking Committee,
is typical of the promotion for the
passage of the amendment that will
authorize banks to set up unmanned
teller machines away from the bank.
The passage of the proposition is
being endorsed by state-wide orga
nizations, as well as local bankers.
The proposed amendment will
permit “the legislature to authorize
banks to use unmanned teller
