ST. LOUIS — Fighting to hold
back the tears, St. Louis comerback
Roger Wehrli tried to explain the
desperation pass in the end zone that
gave the Dallas Cowboys a dramatic
27-24 victory Sunday over the Car
dinals.
“Tony Hill did a good job of
screening me off from the ball with
his back,” said Wehrli. “I should
have figured out a way to get around
him, but I couldn’t. It all happened
so fast.
In a patented Dallas finish, the
Cowboys were trailing 24-20 when
they got the ball back at their own
31-yard line with 1:52 left on the
clock and two timeouts.
On a fourth-and-five with 46
seconds remaining. White faced a
stiff pass rush but lobbed a ball to the
goal line, where Hill leaped high and
came down for a 28-yard touchdown.

Aggies win two

The Texas A&M University
women’s soccer team keeps rolling
toward another fine year as it
downed two SWC teams this
weekend on the road.
In one of its toughest matchups of
the season, the Ag team downed
Texas, 5-3, to clinch a trip to the
national tournament Nov. 14-16 in
Colorado. On Sunday, the Aggies
suffered a slight letdown and slipped
past a surprisingly strong Baylor
Bears squad, 2-1.
The wins put A&M at 6-0 on the
year.
Head Coach Rob Borgeson was
surprised at the high scoring of the
Aggie women this fall.
Through six games, A&M has
scored 29 goals, and has given up
only seven. Also, the Aggies’ defense
has shut out opponents seven halves,
and the offense has been shut out
only one half.
“It's probably the higliesli
record we’ve ever had,’’said
son. "Usually, you’d havenj
scores.”

The Texas A&M women’s volley
ball team flew back to Texas Sunday
after a disastrous week in California,
where they lost all six of their
matches during the past week.
Tuesday night, the Ags dropped
three straight games to San Diego
State University in San Diego. That
match set the tone for things to
come, as the Aggies advanced from
there to the UCLA Invitational in
Los Angeles.
A&M head coach Terry Condon
and her assistant Lindy Vivas, both
former Bruin standouts, were not
greeted with a warm homecoming,
as the Ags dropped all five of their
preliminary bracket matches Friday
and Saturday.
