The largest check presented by Phillips, for $25,000, went to the Center for Education and Research in Free Enterprise. This was the third payment of a five-year commit ment by Phillips. The “Halfast Hundred,” a 100- mile bike ride, is scheduled to begin Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at Rudder Fountain. Wheelmen president Tom Brink said cyclists need not be team mem bers to participate. “We want anyone who enjoys bi cycle riding and likes having fun,’ Brink said. He also said although the ride is not a race, a trophy will be awarded to the “halfast” rider. “At the end of the ride, we take all the times and average them together,” Brink said. “The person whose time is closest to the average wins the trophy.” Our Hours Fit Your Hours.
