Seem hard to believe? The average Cafeterias, Inc. manager did earn over
$80,000 last year. The average training period to become a manager is 6 to 8
years. Managers attain these earnings by collecting a share of the net profits from
their own cafeteria. The average associate manager last year earned $45,000. This
earning level is attainable in 3 to 5 years.
To become a manager of one of our cafeterias is a very special business opportunity.
You'll be joining an ambitious and progressive company that requires more of its
managers than any food chain in the Sunbelt. Local managers are decision making
businessmen who are responsible for all purchasing, menu planning, and hiring of per
sonnel. We grant our managers a great deal of autonomy, and treat them as
business partners. Cafeterias, Inc. is a firm believer in promoting from within; hence,
most Corporate Officers are former unit managers.
Cafeterias, Inc. is not restricting interviews to only Business majors; we're open to all
degrees. We're looking for people who are interested in becoming dynamic, ag
gressive, and well paid businessmen. If that's your goal, then we're looking for you!

Astros lose to L. A., 3-0
but still 2 games in first
United Press International
HOUSTON — Rick Sutcliffe
pitched a three-hitter — to earn only
his second win of the season — and
contributed a two-run single Mon
day night to help the Los Angeles.
Dodgers to a 3-0 victory over the
Houston Astros in the opener of a
three-game series between the Na
tional League West leaders.
For Sutcliffe, last year’s NL
Rookie of the Year with a 17-10 re
cord, the start was the first since he
was demoted to the bullpen May 10,
and it came as a result of an injury to
Don Sutton.
Joe Morgan’s two-out triple in the
first inning, Cesar Cedeno’s leadoff
double in the fifth and Morgan’s two-
out bloop single in the ninth were
the Astros’ only hits. Sutcliffe, 2-4,
struck out two, walked two and lo
wered his earned run average from
7.04 to 5.88.
Steve Garvey’s bouncing single
over the head of third baseman Enos
Cabell to open the fifth inning was
the first Dodger hit off starter and
loser Joaquin Andujar, 0-3. One out
later, Ron Cey walked and Bill Rus
sell doubled to drive in Garvey with
the first run. Steve Yeager walked to
load the bases and Sutcliffe bounced
his two-run single up the middle.
The victory moved the Dodgers to
within two games of the Astros in the
NL West.

Despite a two-and-one-half hour
rain delay, the prestigious Wimble
don Tennis Championships got
underway Monday. Top-seeded
Bjorn Borg easily swept first round
challenger Ismael El Shafei of Egypt
and second-seeded John McEnroe
defeated fellow American Butch
Walts in straight sets.
McEnroe, promising to put on dis
play a different image from the one
that earned him the label of “Super
brat,” made a most impressive start
on a cold, windy and wet day at
Wimbledon when he kept his mouth
muzzled and routed fellow American
Butch Walts, 6-3, 6-3, 6-0.
Meantime, on the adjoining cen
ter court, a strikingly similar Bjorn
Borg began his quest for a fifth con
secutive Wimbledon crown by beat
ing Ismail El Shafei of Egypt, 6-3,
6-4, 6-4.
Action continues today.
