Penberthy, former phy sical education teacher and Intra mural Director in 1926, threw out the first pitch last weekend at the Photos by D.D. Underwood marathon softball tournament, part of the Penberthy Celebration of Sports. The 48-hour tournament was only one of the many events in the sports celebration named in honor of Penberthy, who, during his career was head of the Health and Physical Education Department, Chairman of the MSC Council and Chairman of the Athletic Council. Graduate student Steve Daniels, hits a line drive during the softball tournament last weekend at Penberthy Field. Jack Hedge, a junior and a pitcher for the Scrap Iron team, shows his style at one of the intramural softball games last weekend.
